The Steps To The Spread Of Christianity...
-In the beginning some Christian people the Roman roads to convert people to Christianity and at first the Romans did not the preachers as a threat.
-After a while the Romans found the Christians insulting because they refused to believe in the Roman gods and their way of living.
-As the number of Christians grew, the more the Romans found Christianity as a threat and so they declared that Christianity was now illegal.
-Because of the new law Christians were persecuted by the Romans for practicing Christianity. Some deaths were so extreme as being burned, fed to animals, and being crucified.
-The Christians won admirers after facing death bravely and showing that all classes of people could look forward to a good life by learning about Jesus.
-Many people began to adopt the Christian culture and in 300 C.E. there were almost 30 million Christians living in Rome.
-In 313 C.E the emperor Constantine gave Christians the freedom to practice their religion by signing the Edict of Milan and by 380 Christianity was the Roman empire.

Persecution
Before Christianity was spread the Romans were persecuted in very gruesome ways (crucified, burned to death, fed to animals ect.). Persecute means to harass a group/someone constantly because of their race or religious beliefs. The Romans were brave when being persecuted and didn't put up a fight. This is what helped the Christian religion be spread.
